Clear Orthodontic Braces and Other Types of Braces We Offer
Carlyle Orthodontics provides a range of orthodontic treatment for patients of all ages. We serve the residents of Lake Nona, Lee Vista, St. Cloud, and Southeastern parts of Orlando. Here are the types of braces we offer:
Metal braces are the most common type. They are made of high-grade stainless steel. Today’s metal braces are smaller, more comfortable and more attractive.
Although similar in size and shape to metal braces, our clear teeth braces in Lake Nona are made of ceramic (translucent biocompatible material). They are most popular with adult patients due to their cosmetic appeal. These braces have tooth-colored or clear brackets that easily blend with your teeth, making them far less noticeable than metal braces. Now, if you compare them with clear plastic aligners, clear braces could still be a better option as they can move the teeth much faster on account of their brackets.
The main drawback to ceramic brackets is that they are more fragile and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits, especially if the patient fails to practice oral care. Also, clear braces often require more visits for adjustments and longer routine checkups.
We encourage you to visit us for a free consultation, so our orthodontist can assess your current oral health and determine if clear orthodontic braces are the ideal treatment for you.
The Invisalign system is a series of clear overlay templates – called aligners. The aligners are generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system is available to adult patients with certain bite problems. Ask us if you are a candidate for the Invisalign system.
